Katie Stevens, Lachlan Quarmby, and Evan Roderick Lead Providence Falls Adaptation At Hallmark Channel
Adapted from the book series by Jude Deveraux and Tara Sheets comes the 3-part special event Providence Falls on Hallmark Channel.
Led by Katie Stevens, Lachlan Quarmby, and Evan Roderick, rogue thief Liam O’Connor falls in love with the fiery but sheltered Cora McLeod in 1844 Ireland, but she’s promised to another man. The consequences of their love ripples through time and now Liam must set things right or his very soul is on the line. The Angels of Destiny transport him to present day — where Cora is now a cop and he’s brought on as her new partner — to help the modern day incarnation of Cora fall in love with the man she was destined to be with in 1844. Everything is at stake and powerful forces make the mission difficult, including his own undying love for her.
Actress JoAnna Garcia Swisher pitched the adaptation to Hallmark and is producing with her company Rolling Clover. “I’m always searching for great stories to share with our community, ones I believe best represent what we stand for and our audience enjoys and I think The Providence Falls trilogy is the perfect story for us to launch under our new banner. I discovered the material while filming in the magical and historic hills of Ireland for Hallmark, and I was instantly swept up in the romance and the idea of soulmates finding each other again and again across time,” said Swisher about discovering the story with her book club. “I’ve always loved the notion that love can be eternal, and these books offered the perfect backdrop for a sweeping, epic love story and I believe the Hallmark audience will fall in love with Providence Falls just as I did.”
“Providence Falls is a beautiful and heartfelt tale of love and redemption. As a longtime fan of Jude Deveraux’s writing, I knew we needed to adapt this as soon as Joanna pitched it. Hallmark viewers will be swept into the mystery, gorgeous period costumes, and most of all, the epic romance,” said Jessica Callahan, VP Programming, in a statement, with author Deveraus sharing: “I have always been a fan of the Hallmark Channel and now to be part of it is a great honor. I am excited about seeing my characters come to life!”
Production was completed earlier this year. The trilogy is set to premiere August 2 on the Hallmark Channel and stream the next day on Hallmark+.
