Hallmark Stars Reveal What They’ve Taken Home From Set

Ever wonder what happens to all the movie props and costumes from your favorite Hallmark Channel movies after the cameras stop rolling? Pop Culture Planet asked Hallmark’s biggest stars what they’ve taken home from set over the years at Hallmark Channel’s 25th birthday red carpet and their answers ranged from sentimental keepsakes to, well, entire wardrobes.

For Victor Webster, it’s all about the wardrobe. “I literally take a piece of wardrobe from every film that I do,” he revealed. His favorite? “A three-quarter-length beautiful camel coat that makes me feel like a superhero when I wear it.”

Heather Hemmens has a softer spot for set decor, specifically books. “If there’s like a good bookshelf, I usually sort through the books and I ask the prop guy, I’m like, ‘You’re not going to read this, right?’” she joked.

Niall Matter kept his answer simple: “All of my clothes.” But he does have one set of keepsakes that means a little more to him. From Frozen in Love, which he filmed with Rachael Leigh Cook, he kept hockey jerseys made specifically for the movie. Since hockey is a big part of his life, those pieces have extra sentimental value.

Tyler Hynes and BJ Britt both apparently had their eyes on the wardrobe department too. Hynes joked that he and his fellow The Groomsmen trilogy stars “walked away with some good gear,” while Britt admitted, “We walked away with a lot of clothing on The Groomsmen, yes. Shhh. I needed an extra suitcase.”

Wes Brown learned the hard way that you might want to check before taking something home. “One time I did take a jacket and when I got home. She goes, ‘By the way, that was my son’s jacket. If you go ahead and mail that back,’” he laughed. “Oh, no. I mailed it back. I mailed it back.”

For Nikki DeLoach, the tradition is much more sentimental. “I take an ornament from every Christmas movie I do,” she shared. “All of them are on my tree.”

Autumn Reeser has perhaps one of the most meaningful keepsakes: a custom-made box from Junebug. “In Junebug, my character has this childhood wish box and they custom bought it. It’s 110 years old and they painted a scarab, a junebug, on it,” she said. “They did such a beautiful job with it and now it sits at home. It means a lot to me ‘cause that movie meant a lot to me.”

Hynes also has a special piece from his upcoming holiday movie The Nights Before Christmas. “There’s a painting that there’s three different iterations of. One of them I painted,” he said. “My producing partner and my writer and myself, each one of us stole one of those paintings.”

And then there’s Andrew Walker, who admitted he has taken “a lot” over the years, including shirts, jackets, shoes and some particularly nice boots. But his favorite souvenirs don’t necessarily stay with him. “I actually give it to my dad most of the time,” he explained. “It means more to my dad than it means to me.”

From their closets to their Christmas trees, looks like they’ve all taken a little Hallmark magic home with them!
