Nikki DeLoach Has Advice For The Next Generation Of Mickey Mouse Club Stars
The Mickey Mouse Club is getting a reboot! At Hallmark Channel’s 25th birthday at the 92nd Street Y, former Mouseketeer Nikki DeLoach spoke with Pop Culture Planet about the advice she has for the young talent stepping into the iconic franchise.
DeLoach got her start on The Mickey Mouse Club in 1993 and fondly remembers being given the freedom to simply be a kid. “I was so lucky whenever I got on the show,” DeLoach said, recalling executive producer Dennis Steinmetz and the ADs on set who worked with them. “[They] let us be kids.”
She famously performed alongside one of the most star-studded casts of The Mickey Mouse Club, including Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, Keri Russell, and JC Chasez. The kids had a demanding performance schedule, but DeLoach said “it never felt like work.” “It was a big job,” she said. “We worked six-day weeks in that last season of the show and we put on three live shows a week. It never felt like work. They'd let us be kids.”
The Disney+ reboot will introduce 11 new Mouseketeers, including Camp Rock 3 stars Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, and Brooklynn Pitts; Young Rock’s Erianthe Akaata; Elio star Yonas Kibreab; Black Rabbit’s Michael Cash; The Lion King national tour alum Scarlett London Diviney; and newcomers Varonica Mitchell, Kauani, Scarlett Grace Petty, and Carter Barnes.
As this new generation prepares to take on The Mickey Mouse Club legacy and DeLoach’s biggest advice isn’t just for the cast. “The advice would be more so towards the adults,” she said. “Let them be kids and kids be kids ‘cause you have to grow up and be an adult before you know it.”
Production on the pilot began in Los Angeles in July of 2026, but an official premiere date hasn’t been announced yet.
