Autumn Reeser Reveals Her Real-Life Pregnancy Inspired Her No Ordinary Family Storyline

Fans of No Ordinary Family will remember Autumn Reeser’s character Katie Andrews and her pregnancy storyline. At Hallmark Channel’s 25th birthday at the 92nd Street Y, the actress told Pop Culture Planet about how art imitated her own real life.

The writers ended up adding her real-life pregnancy into the story. “I got pregnant with my first son on that show and then they ended up writing it in,” Reeser told me. “Then my baby was born with superpowers, right?” The pregnancy gave Katie temporary telekinetic abilities before she gave birth to her super-powered son in the series finale.

Reeser hopes her son watches the series someday so she can point to the storyline. “I think that’ll be really cool if Finn ever watches this show,” she said. “I’ll be like, ‘That’s you.’ They wrote in your superpowers just like in real life.”

That sweet addition made the storyline even more special and perfectly captures the feeling all parents can relate to. “Of course, as a mom, you always think your kids have superpowers, right?” she added with a laugh.
