Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe Shine In Hilarious Comeback Show The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins
Disgraced NFL star Reggie Dinkins is looking for one last shot at redemption by hiring a filmmaker to make a documentary reclaiming his legacy in The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. The team forms a family-like bond as they realize Reggie isn’t the only one chasing a comeback.
Reggie Dinkins is Tracy Morgan’s best role since 30 Rock’s Tracy Jordan. It allows him to tap into the particular brand of absurd comedy he has mastered over the years. Daniel Radcliffe is the perfect counterpart as filmmaker Arthur Tobin and their unlikely friendship makes for some hilariously unexpected antics.
The casting is top-notch, with a supporting cast that is just as strong. Erika Alexander plays Monica, Reggie’s ex-wife and manager, and together they easily co-parent their son Carmelo (Jalyn Hall). She even shares a refreshingly drama-free friendship with Reggie’s young fiancée Brina, played by absolute stand out Precious Way. Then there’s Reggie’s ridiculous best friend, played by Bobby Moynihan, who brings in even more comic relief.
Together, this quirky ensemble is impossible not to love. Sharp recurring gags, timely pop culture references, and absurdly funny moments make The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins a redemption story that’s as hilarious as it is heartfelt. It makes me miss old-school 22-episode runs just to spend more time in this world.
New episodes of The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins air Mondays on NBC and are streaming on Peacock.
