Catalina Sandino Moreno on Tabitha’s Survival Instincts In FROM Season 4

Every season of FROM leaves us shook and this one is no exception. Catalina Sandino Moreno spoke with Pop Culture Planet’s Kristen Maldonado about the emotional weight Tabitha carries in season 4, surviving unimaginable loss, and the chaos still to come.

In season 3, viewers learned that Tabitha and Jade (David Alpay) were reincarnations of people who have been trying to save the children of this town for a long time. Now that realization comes with immense pressure. “It was something that I knew that I had to do a lot this season. I was not very happy that Jim (Eion Bailey) died ‘cause that was one thing on top of another. I just feel that it's going to just take her to a road this season that is going to be interesting for her. You're going to see her desperation. She might not want to do something, but she has to. She feels that she needs to,” said Moreno. “She has this information that she's the reincarnation of Miranda and she's alone. Her partner died. It's just a lot of pressure on her to take care of her children and trying to find out a way to leave that awful town.”

Tabitha is pushed into situations where she has to balance being deeply broken while still stepping us as a fighter. “I think it's deserved from the character,” said Moreno. “The character deserves that survival instinct. Maybe she's not doing things right, but she is trying to survive. She's trying to take care of her children. She's trying to just do things right. She's in this town where one mistake costs your life so she's under a lot of pressure, but she's a broken woman. She's sad. She's going to do things that she's not going to like, for the only purpose of like, let's get out of here. She's going to put herself in situations where they're dangerous, but she's always going to think about her children.”

Moreno shared Tabitha’s goodbye with Jim was one of her favorite moments in season 4. “It was very beautiful the way it was written. It was very, very gentle and beautiful and loving. I love that little dialogue,” she explained. “How tender it was, but how painful and how it was just a lot of emotions and I love that.” She also loved how wild episode 7 gets. “There's just a lot of things happening. There's a doll happening and it's just fun to be […] a part of all the craziness.”

As for the finale, Moreno teased that season 4’s later episodes set the stage for an unforgettable final season. “Season 5 is going to be great ‘cause that finale, like 9 and 10, are going to be amazing episodes. I remember reading them,” she enthused. “I'm like, ‘Oh my god, I need to talk to the writer. Like this is crazy, there's so many things happening.’ There's just a lot of movement which is great.”

New episodes of FROM season 4 air Sundays on MGM+.
