Haunted Hotel Is Your Next Spooky Binge Watch!

Hazbin Hotel, you might have some competition…

Is there room in the animated world for two shows about spooky hotels? Spoiler alert: of course there is! And if you like Hazbin Hotel, you’ll enjoy Netflix’s new animated series Haunted Hotel.

Haunted Hotel follows a single mom (voiced by Eliza Coupe) and her two kids (Skyler Gisondo and Natalie Palamides) who inherit a — you guessed it — haunted hotel from her late brother. The three of them, along with her brother’s ghost (Will Forte) and a demon named Abaddon (Jimmi Simpson) deal with evil demons, possessed hotel suites, and other entities who come to the Undervale while they try to make a living running the hotel. Haunted Hotel is funny, spooky, and even heartfelt as these various hauntings bring the dysfunctional family together.

The animation style is simple and clean, but they do really fun things with the monsters and creatures. There’s tons of Easter eggs and references to horror movies we all know and love. What I love most is the surprisingly solid world building that opens up endless possibilities to explore in Haunted Hotel. My biggest complaint is there wasn’t enough episodes. It’s so good that I could have watched a 20 episode season of all the hilarious chaos the family gets up to. Lucky for us, the show has been picked up for a second season!

Don’t miss Haunted Hotel streaming now on Netflix.
