From The Waterfront to America’s Sweethearts, Should You Add These To Your Watchlist?
From a new group of cheerleaders to a soapy family drama, here’s what you should add to your watchlist!
America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Season 2
We’re getting back into “Thunderstruck” with America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders season 2.
After an eye-opening series premiere, this season continues the journey of rookie and veteran candidates vying for a spot on the DCC. From returning favorites to a group of veterans advocating for changes, this season is not one to miss! The choreography, the uniform fittings, the audition solos, and the drama are all entertaining to watch, but what stands out this season is the cheerleaders of color getting more screen time than last season. I was even more delighted to see that, for the first time, the team had two women of color as front “points” in their routines. The season continues to open up the conversation about how much the cheerleaders get paid and how many of the veterans advocated hard to get a raise. I found their fight to be truly admirable to pave the way for the future girls on the team and, in the end, they got results!

The Waterfront
The Buckley’s are an untouchable force in the new Netflix series The Waterfront.
Holy binge-watch! The series has all the elements of a classic family drama where secrets, murder, and crime mesh together to give us eight entertaining episodes. I enjoyed the outstanding performances by Holt McCallany, Jake Weary, Danielle Campbell, Maria Bello, and Melissa Benoist throughout the series as their dysfunctional characters get more depth. It’s all thrilling and gripping at every moment with every twist and turn as the story progresses. A sociopathic character performance by Topher Grace is a nice cherry on top.
