This is not a drill! HBO has announced the actors cast as the iconic trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione in their new Harry Potter TV series.

Following mixed reactions about the casting of the adults in this magical world, we’ve really just been dying to know... who is going to play our three leads? Staying true to the original franchise, three screen newcomers have been cast. Meet Dominic McLaughlin, who is playing Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton who is our Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout taking on the role of Ron Weasley.

“After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron,” said showrunner and executive producer Francesca Gardiner and director and executive producer Mark Mylod in a statement. “The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It's been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”

Previously announced cast members include John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, Paapa Essiedu, Nick Frost, Luke Thallon, and Paul Whitehouse.

Stay tuned to Pop Culture Planet for more updates on the magical series that will be streaming on HBO Max.
