James Denton is ready to make a return to Middleton! Five years after Good Witch wrapped its seven-movie and seven-season run on Hallmark Channel, Denton is offering fans a promising update about revisiting the beloved series. He starred as Dr. Sam Radford opposite Catherine Bell’s Cassie Nightingale. In a conversation with Pop Culture Planet’s Kristen Maldonado for his new holiday film A Season of Promises, he shared “there’s hope” for more Good Witch!
While nothing has been officially announced, there is movement behind the scenes. “Yeah, it's past time,” Denton said when asked if he’d be interesting in returning to the role. “That was a casualty of a lot of turnover upstairs at Hallmark. This show is really popular, mainly because of Catherine Bell. People have been clamoring for it forever. We've been trying to make it happen since we went off the air, I guess, in ‘21.”
Could fans see Sam and Cassie back together again? Denton seems hopeful. “It looks like we probably are,” he told me. “We're definitely grinding it out, trying to get everybody together, trying to get something written.”
“There is life in the Good Witch franchise, I'll just say that, because, thankfully, people care,” Denton enthused. “So, yes, it is past time and we're hoping. It looks like the conversations are happening. There's hope. It has a pulse.”
Walk down the streets of MIddleton all over again with Good Witch streaming on Hallmark+, plus catch Denton in A Season of Promises airing November 8 on Hallmark Channel!
